Paul Simon is a Romanian-American artist using photography and spatial design to craft alternative visions of the body through material construction. He exploits the logic of the camera to investigate the ambiguous gap between two- and three- dimensional space, engaging with and altering perception.

Born in Southern California and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Simon studied human biology and dissection and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2016. Soon after, he moved to New York City and received his MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts (2019). His work has been published in GUP, Garage, Wired, and he is the recipient of the 2019 PDN Photography Prize for his thesis project “Genesis of Desire”. His work has been exhibited in New York, Tokyo and Miami.

Paul lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. His screen name is notpaulsimon, you might understand why.
